My Thoughts

This is book 2 in a series and while you can read them as stand alones, I think it would be better to start with book 1 and go from there. I started with book 2 and it took me about 1/2 of chapter 1 to figure out who was who. But after that, it really was standalone. I can't believe I have never heard of MK McClintock, I loved this book so much. It was one of those that when you were forced to put it down, you were counting time until you can read some more. This book has romance, intrigue, murder, mystery, family dynamics, etc.. and manages to do it all without sex and cussing. The characters are strong and likeable for the most part. Honestly I wanted to stab the father myself because he was so horrible. I can't wait to read the whole series. I have to know what happens to Devin. MK McClintock is a wonderful writer who tells a thrilling tale.
